Sarcococca confusa Sweet boxSarcococca confusa {Sweet box} is a fabulous evergreen shrub. You can plant it in the border, plant it into containers or use it as an edging plant for a garden border. This compact evergreen shrub has deep green leathery leaves and tiny, fragrant creamy-white flowers in winter or spring, followed by red, purple or black berries. The scent on this shrub, is absolutely gorgeous and you will come to recognise it, where ever you may chance upon it.

Definitely a plant to have near a garden path or planted into a pot – this stalwart evergreen has it scented flowers on during the winter months, which is beautiful and delicate, it really is a must-have plant for the winter garden.

If you haven’t yet visited the Botanical Garden at Cambridge University Botanic Garden.. I urge you to take a trip there.. this and many other winter flowering shrubs are in full bloom and a joy to behold on a crisp winter’s day.
