seated-planter-with-trew-turnerNarrative:

It was a real pleasure creating the design for this little outside space. My clients wanted to be able to enjoy their garden more, but felt restricted by the size and layout. Being able to entertain friends and family on a summer’s evening was a priority. The design concept was based on creating seating with opportunity for planting.

Innovations:

I designed adjoining seated planters with square apertures for plants between the seats and on the facings – adding a wonderful talking point and interaction with plants.

Materials used in the garden design:
Willow screening

Red Cedar

Collaborators:

Liam of Trew Turner

Tony Littlejohns

Plants list:

Polypodium vulgare (Common polypody fern)
Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Black Beard’ (Mondo grass)
Dicentra spectabilis ‘Alba’ (White bleeding heart)
Ajuga reptans ‘Atropurpurea’ (Bugle)

Climbers

Hydrangea seemannii (Evergreen climbing Hydrangea)

Trees
Sorbus cashmiriana (Kashmir Rowan)

Bespoke designs that combine the practical with the beautiful. The planters can be made from a selection of hard or soft woods and designed with planting schemes to include scented and edible plants. Bespoke seated planters are perfect for a small courtyard garden. Designed with apertures to the front and in the seating for beautiful interludes and talking points.
