It is brilliant keeping a photo diary of the changes taking place in my client’s raised bed. With each visit I see how the plants have grown and deliver their unique beauty. As a whole the planting scheme is offering up colour, texture and form in a north-facing location that receives sun in the morning and afternoon from the east and west.

So, don’t be put off by a north-facing aspect because your plants can still receive light and sun for them to successfully grow. I can even see the Anemone coronaria peeping up through the soil line in early anticipation of what is to come.. lovely, exciting and all plants are working beautifully together.

The plants
Anemone coronaria ‘The Bride’
Dianthus chinensis heddwigii ‘Victoriana’
Centaurea cyanus ‘Black Ball’ is a substitute plant (grown at JtG HQ)
Epimedium x rubrum
Osteospermum ‘Nuanza Copper Purple’
Tropaeolum (Nasturtiums)
Stachys byzantina ‘Silver Carpet’
