On the twenty first day of February 2012 seed planting begins with Nasturtiums (tall mixed), Tomatoes ‘Gardener’s Delight’ and Sweet Peas ‘Winston Churchill’. I use a wheelbarrow to mix my recipe of 4 parts compost (non-peat) with 1 part of manure, grit and sand. When the plants and seedling mix do get put out into their places in the garden the contributions of organic material with the grit and sand are much needed in the heavy clay soil.
I shall report on the seedlings’ progress over the next few months and include photographs straight from the greenhouse.
I look forward to receiving your comments on plants that you are raising from seed.
