How utterly thrilling to be having some success with plant sales so soon in my horticultural endevours.. not only are my clients beginning to make orders for my young plants, but neighbours are now also buying my plants and spreading the word, which is fantastic! Feeling confident, I invested in a new wicker basket, which I feel is very in keeping with the Judi the Gardener brand..!

I am now in my second year of business and with the encouragement of friends, family and clients I have the motivation and support to keep developing my business. My latest service offering is to sell my plants to neighbours as well as clients and I am going to be selling my young plants at a table top sale in my front garden. I thought this would be a lovely opportunity to meet local people and help elderly neighbours have access to buying plants nearer to home.

Yesterday I delivered plants to a neighbour and as I walked into her garden with my new look delivery box (check out my wicker basket) she couldn’t get to the plants quick enough. I realise that what I need to develop next is plant care information for clients to keep, (note to self) I mustn’t assume everyone knows how to look after plants. Feedback is very valuable and I also realise that whilst I loved writing the descriptions for each of the plants in my ‘plant list’ I left out the essential information about where to plant, eg: sun or part shade etc.. As I say, it’s all learning and I now have a clear idea of what to include in next year’s plant list!
